Live Looping is making a last minute invasion to the exceptionally wonderful Uncharted Gallery!!!
A cadre of International and U.S. Live Loopers are making their escape after the 2018 PVDLoop Festival, and with special guest, The Beautiful and Brilliant Dei Xhrist, this troupe of musical pirates will be filling the air with music from the U.S., France, Sweden, Japan, and spectacular Lowell!!!
Laurie Amat (PVD) explores the vast possibilities of human sound, using the power of pure voice, breath and body to express visceral human emotion and story. She has performed and recorded site-specific architectural and electronic works in cisterns, concrete overpasses; and venues such as Museo di Santa Giulia (IT); Bergen Arkitekthøgskulen (NO); DeYoung Museum (SF); and the University of Chicago’s Rockefeller Chapel. Her collaborators have included the late computer music pioneer Max Mathews, Avant-Garde legends The Residents, Sonisk Blodbad (Bergen, NO), and Timeghost-Adam Morosky (PVD). Ms. Amat is also the Founder and Artistic Director of the Y2K18 Providence International Live Looping Festival (PVDLoop), which is presented on October 12th and 13th at AS220 in Providence, RI.

Lucid Brain Integrative Project-Emmanuel Reveneau (FR)
The music of Emmanuel Reveneau a.k.a The lucid brain integrative project is at the crossroads of free improvisation, realtime orchestration, atheorical instrument self-learning and deep software conception. In other words, it’s all about elaborating on the fly some music vaguely inspired by jazz and stuff like Soft Machine with his custom software “Noundo”, questionable instrumental skills, and it sounds good most of the time, if somewhat, sometimes, a bit wacky. Emmanuel headlined at the Y2K14 in Santa Cruz and has produced multiple loopfests in France since 2013, the so-called Loop Jubilee series.

Per Boysen (SE) has performed many shows around Asia, Europe and the US – both as a solo performer, in duets and with ensembles. Appearances in general public areas as well as at world famous institutions like the Swedish Norberg Festival, Présences Électronique in Paris and the North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam. He is also active as a media music composer, having produced recordings of surround music, mixed records for bands and creative remixing for special record label releases.
“Per Boysen’s live looped ambience music with layers over layers of sax and flute melodies was a real experience, and it was obvious that he is utilizing the electronics as his personal expression without being a slave to the technology.” (Smålandsposten, Sweden)
“Among the many festival highlights was Swedish guitarist and flute/wood-wind player Per Boysen’s Jon Hassell-like soundscapes”
(Guitar Player Magazine, USA)

ecnegrU (FR)
The project ecnegrU was born in 2011. Before that, Romain Couillaud had many musical experiences between France and Italy, first as a player (in bands such as Otakatroi), as a live sound engineer and finally as a producer in his own home-studio. ecnegrU is therefore a mix of all these experiences, a kind of multi-instrument Live Production: every piece is played, mixed -and sometime remixed- live. ecnegrU has played festivals with various local, national and international artists, like Adrian Sherwood, Rick Walker, Steve Moyes or Dub FX.
