Dei Xhrist

The intent is to actively play with the way that music from different regions and eras travels through influence; how it is changed by instrumentation, skill level, and memory; and how theft of intangible ideas shapes language and communication.

The intended action is that audience members will learn to improvise through music and movement. They’ll reproduce sounds from their youth or ancestral history, using whatever they have to make sound – clothing, props, body, voice. Participants will develop their sounds, steal others, and enact a sonic battle as both aggressors and victims. I mean, the theme is pirates  after all.
